Join us to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Law school at the new BULAC (ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Law Clinic) on ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏHigh Street, on Thursday 3rd April 2025 4-8pm. Â
As the event is funded by ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏBusiness School's Sir Elwyn Jones Lecture Fund, the event celebrates the history of ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏLaw as a local law school, as part of the university's history of social entrepreneurship and community engagement, one set up by farmers and quarrymen.Â
We are celebrating 20 years of ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏLaw by highlighting the shared work of access to justice and community engagement across the cooperative and social business movement of North Wales, and the law clinic movement of which ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïis now a part of.Â
ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏLaw now stands in the community on the high street through the new clinic, so it makes sense for us to invite representatives of the local social business and cooperative movement in North Wales to celebrate access to justice in the community, with yourself as a fantastic representative.Â
There will be a guest lecture followed by a bilingual roundtable discussion on how best social enterprise can serve access to justice in the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïcommunity and the surrounding areas.Â
Following the success of ÌìÌì³Ô¹ÏLaw’s ‘Representing Law’ exhibition as part of the Research Committee on the Sociology of Law conference 2024, participating local artists will be invited to respond to the theme of community and access to law alongside a small showcase of colleagues' work and research, in the new Law Clinic space on the high street.Â
Entertainment will be provided by local musicians and spoken word artist Martin Daws.
