  • The unveiling of the portrait of Charlotte Price White, by Oliver Turnbull, followed by a presentation by Shan Robinson (BU Archives and Women's Archive Wales).ÌýÌý

Charlotte Price White was a significant figure in the North Wales Suffragist movement and played a crucial role in advocating for peace. After World War I, she became a central figure in the North Wales branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. She was also a county organizer for the Welsh League of Nations Union's Women's Peace Petition to America in 1923-1924.Ìý

The Women's Peace Petition aimed to promote peace and prevent future conflicts by gathering signatures from women across Wales and presenting them to the United States. This initiative was part of a broader movement to encourage international cooperation and disarmament.Ìý

Charlotte's dedication to peace and her leadership in these efforts left a lasting impact on the community and the broader peace movement.Ìý
